直接投資の経済成長に与える効果

 Recently, the economic growth of East Asia is remarkable. It is thought that te direct investment from the foreign country contributes greatly. Then, we analyze the effect on the economic growth of direct investment in this paper.  In this cace, the fundamental equation of Domar, E. D.'s growth theory is enhanced. That is, we introduce the two factors into the model which are the local content ratio and the export rate of puroducts by the direct investment. The growth rate of the investment of the home country for the domestic market equiliburium changes depending on those values and marginal propensity to save. So, the growth rate of real investment rises or lowers, and it influences on the economic growth.

 In February 1837 the Whig government introduced the Poor Law (Ireland) Bill in the House of Commons. The Bill was based on the English Poor Law: the poor should be relieved in workhouses and outdoor relief should be prohibited. The Bill passed the second reading in May 1837 and was considered in committee, but it was dropped owing to the death of King William IV in June 1837. The government introduced the second Poor Law (Ireland) Bill in December 1837, which passed the House of Commons in April 1838 and the House of Lords in July 1838. Opposition to the Bill was not great. Tory leader Robert Peel supported the Bill; this weakened the force of the Bill as a political issue for the Tory opposition. But some Irish members of all political parties, who accepted the principle of the English Poor Law system, were critical of the details. The main controversial issues in parliament were the administration of the system by the English Poor Law Commissioners, the size of the union, outdoor relief and the introduction of a law of settlement.

戦間期日本における失業問題と金融政策

 In the interwar years, Japan shared a concern common to many Western industrialized nations to seek balance of payments and employment stability on the basis of a gold standard system at the pre-war parity. In order to do so, governments introduced a mild deflationary policy but only to be suffered from stagnation of economy and employment.  After Japan returned to the gold standard in 1930, exchange rate began to rise and it threatened a decrease of export level. Domestic demand declined and job losses spread to the chemical and heavy industries and to the mining industry. But with the government determined to continue fiscal and monetary restriction, merely awaiting a recovery from depression, both firms and farms lost their trading strength and unemployment grew.  The combination of the Manchurian Incident and the Britain's decision to abandon the gold standard convinced Japan that maintaining the pre-war gold par was impossible and in December 1931, the Japanese gold standard was abandoned. After 1932, military expenditure was increased and it effected on employment of the skilled workers. But the improvement of employment was limited to the casual workers as the relatively poor recovery of agricultural production reversed the shock absorber effect of the agricultural sector pushing casual workers into industrial cities.

 The Chinese automobile industry has rapidly expanded since the world automobile enterprises entered in the 21st century. The production of cars sharply spread and China became a large country of the consumption. The development of the Chinese automobile industry has brought big influences for the world automobile industry. It has become an important issue whether the development of this section can contribute to sustainable development of China in the future.  Studies and analyses on Chinese automobile industry have increased recently, and specific data or statistical magazines for the industry have been published. Now, it became easier to grasp developmental conditions and the characteristics of them.  This paper tried to examine new structural factors of Chinese automobile industry and developmental difficulties in the near future. Through investigations on available data and documentations, this paper tried to clarify the business relations among domestic and foreign companies and newly emerging difficulties at the time of “the tenth five-year plan”, so that these factors could be a clue to the managerial break through for the sustainable development of the sector.
